Improvement in knowledge of Jupiter’s magnetic field geometry. An updated field model was constructed by forcing field lines from Io’s orbit to pass through the observed latitudes of the footprints. The longitudes were left unconstrained due to uncertainties in both the magnitude of the Alfv´en wing near Io and the travel time of Alfv´en waves from Io to Jupiter. The change in magnetic field geometry as a result of fitting to flyby data from the Pioneer and Voyager spacecraft, in addition to fitting WFPC2 and near-IR H+ 3 measured locations of the Io footprint (the VIP4 model, Connerney et al.

HST observations of Mars often place substantial demands on both spacecraft and personnel resources. The hard work and dedication of many people have helped to make these observations successful over the past decade. Specifically, those of us involved in HST Mars science thank the following people for critical support: S.
